| Description: |
Come and hear Australia Post discuss Governance, Risk and Compliance.
... more
Over the last few years we have seen a significant maturing and in some cases convergence of many Governance, Risk, Compliance and Assurance activities, in particular the emergence of Enterprise Risk Management. With this maturity comes more sophisticated information management requirements’, usually resulting in the development of a number of information “silos” – isolated databases containing different versions of virtually the same data. This silo approach makes it nearly impossible to determine the real risk profile and our progress in managing these risks. In this session we will explore our experience with this problem at Australia Post and how an integrated GRC approach may break down these silos and unlock the real risk profile.

As organisations are emerging out of the worst financial meltdown seen in years, they are awakening to a new reality where TCO and ROI are more than just buzz words. These organisational drivers are now the foundation of business success in the new economy and are most likely here to stay. Organisations such as SAP are now tasked, more than ever before, to provide its diverse customer base with real and tangible value proposition for their license and maintenance dollar. In this new reality SAP has made significant strategic changes to its traditional Maintenance Model. It is committed to make its maintenance offering a true differentiator in the market place, ensuring that “the best run business indeed run SAP” The decision to introduce the tiered model is a clear message that SAP has realised through intense dialogue with customers as well as the SUGEN program that the “one size fits all” maintenance model is no longer sustainable. In the past few years SAP made strides in re-establishing close link to its customers, SAP listened to its customers and responded. The session “SAP Tiered Maintenance offering and Enterprise Support as market differentiator” is aimed to demonstrate how SAP responded to customer needs and what customers can do to leverage the offerings SAP made available to better prepare, sustain and grow in this “brave new world”.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with their peers and share knowledge and ideas to benefit the whole SAP community. A key element of this is the networking session, where a facilitator will work with the group to understand what issues the members are currently facing. The collection of results will then be presented to SAP, giving members a direct voice to the source. The session provides an informal opportunity for SAUG Ordinary members to collaborate on key focus areas, giving them the opportunity to share ideas and work in partnership for mutual business benefit.
