Join us as Leanne shares her wealth of experience in project managing and researching Government Web 2.0 projects. Leanne worked with the Government 2.0 task force and was an instrumental part of the project that resulted in the report on: "Identifying key barriers within agencies to Government 2.0 and a survey of Australian Government Web 2.0 practices". Projects 2 and 3 of the Gov 2.0 Taskforce investigated the adoption of web 2.0 in Government today and reviewed best practice examples. The analysis and report also investigated whether barriers to Web 2.0 are real or perceived, and provided recommendations for the adoption of Web 2.0 in Government. Join the report’s author, Leanne Fry, for insight on issues facing departments today in utilising web 2.0 tools, and step through a practical guide to implementation.

Linking expenditure and policy outcomes in a predictable fashion iscritical for an accountable government. Given this responsibility, agencies who cost government initiatives need to ensure that budget and cost information is logically linked to Programs by the type of resources being consumed. To perform this process effectively and efficiently, agencies need solutions which can: • Align costs to improve financial management; • Allocate costs to Strategic Plans and results; • Understand what activities and process are linked to Programs; • Budget/Resources alignment to results; • Automated budget development and approval; and • Linking of budget resources to results.

CorpTech is a Business Unit within the Department of Public Works and is responsible for the design, build and operation of the Queensland Government's finance and human resource solutions. A large percentage of these systems are provided using SAP platforms. The support of multiple instances of SAP ranging from 3.1I to ECC5 is inherently complex and CorpTech has been working to standardise the management of these to achieve economies of scale and reduce costs. A key component of the efficient management of our environment is the application of appropriate tools and processes. The SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) add-in package is one such tool used by CorpTech to assist in the controlled management of our environment. This presentation will focus on the use of GRC in a complex federated environment and unpick some of the challenges with GRC implementation, its ongoing use and how CorpTech plans to move forward to ensure it effectively manages its responsibilities in a complex Shared Service environment.
