SAUG Solution Series: Closing the Execution Gap: Why SAP Go-Lives Succeed But Floor Adoption Fails

Date(s):
29th Oct 2026
Time:
2:00PM - 2:45PM AEDT
Venue:
Online
Description:

SAP go-lives are usually measured by what happens in the system; what's harder to see is what's happening on the floor. Warehouse staff still working from printed pick lists. Maintenance technicians logging jobs after the fact, from memory. Field service calling the office to close out a work order that was actually finished hours earlier.

Join this Solutions webinar to explore:

  • Why the floor is often more accurate than SAP itself - and what that means for how you trust your own data
  • The hidden "phantom headcount" cost of manual data re-entry, and how to spot it in your own operation
  • Why the execution gap grows faster than your business does as you scale
  • Where SAP Fiori genuinely helps, and where it stops short of solving execution challenges

In most organisations, the floor is more accurate than the system, not less. The pallet that was just moved, the part that was just replaced, is the most correct piece of information in the business at that moment. It's also the piece furthest from ever reaching SAP. By the time it's keyed in, something newer has already happened that the system doesn't know about yet. Which raises an odd question worth sitting with: is your most "current" SAP data actually your oldest?

That gap doesn't just cost you data quality. Somewhere in your operation, someone's real job - regardless of what their title says - is walking the floor, then sitting down to translate what they saw back into the system. It's rarely written on an org chart, but it's a headcount cost hiding in plain sight. And it doesn't stay the same size: a gap that's a minor irritation at one warehouse becomes a much bigger problem the moment you add a second site, a second shift, or a new product line.

You will take away:

  • A different way to think about which of your data is actually "current"
  • A real-world example of how another SAP customer closed the execution gap without custom-building a solution
  • A live look at offline-capable, guided mobile execution running against SAP ECC and S/4HANA

There will also be a live demonstration showing Commsult's Ontego SAP Mobility platform in action — including how it continues working offline and syncs automatically once connectivity returns. Register Now!
