Paul joined Heidelberg Materials in the UK in 1990.  In 1997, a global SAP rollout came along and he jumped on board as an ABAP programmer and has never looked back. He has worked on country-specific SAP implementations in the United Kingdom, Germany, Israel, and Australia. Paul is an SAP Mentor and the author of six books on ABAP programming notably the “ABAP to the Future” series. He is also a prolific public speaker and has spoken at SAUG and SAP events all round the world.

Mark works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, ethics and industrial leadership. In his executive role, he is General Manager of Digital Technology & Innovation (CIO) at CITIC Pacific Mining, Australia's largest magnetite operation and is the immediate past Chair of the Global Mining Guidelines Group (GMG). 

Mark advises boards and executives on AI governance, machine ethics and the responsible deployment of AI in operationally complex environments, drawing on over two decades of leading digital transformation in heavy industry. 

Mark is also the Vice Chair of the SAUG Committee.

Synergy is WA’s largest electricity generator and retailer of gas and electricity to more than 1 million customers. They moved to SAP Rise on PCE, with all standard SAP modules in scope for the migration. The project started in March 2025 and went live in Feb 2026.  

Devang will discuss why it's a massive undertaking and significant leap in Synergy's application modernization path. He will also share insights into the challenges and learnings along the way.

Sydney Water has embarked on a journey to modernise its planning systems using SAC Seamless Planning. They will use a lean and an iterative approach to deliver SAC Planning. The project will be delivered in-house, augmented by contingent resources and as a collaboration and joint ownership between Digital and Finance.
