    Peter is currently the CIO for MMG. Previously he spent a number of years at BHP Billiton, in a variety of global positions including Group Manager IT Strategy, CIO Marketing and CIO Petroleum.
  • Mario Tieppo

    Chief Information Officer

    Mario Tieppo is the Executive General Manager Technology and CIO, at AusNet Services. His accountabilities include ICT, operating technologies (OT), digital innovation, Information Security and the telecommunications functions of the organisation. He is responsible for developing the strategy for AusNet Services’ “Digital Utility” and digital platforms, and is a constructive agitator of technology enabled organisational change and innovation. Mario has over 25 years’ experience in the Information Technology industry and has built a reputation for developing high performing teams and leading large Organisational Change Programs. He has previously held senior executive positions as General Manager IT at Australia Post, CIO at Australian Air Express, Head of IT at Agrium-Landmark and CIO at SA Power Networks.

    Matthew is a globally experienced CIO, coach and business leader, who recently left DuluxGroup to accept the CIO role at Orora Limited. His experience includes multiple finance, sales, marketing, manufacturing, data management, BI, ERP, CRM and HRIS solution implementations, the regionalisation of services, application harmonisation exercises, (in, out, off & on) (re)sourcing solutions, as well as numerous infrastructure projects, all across multiple industries, geographies and cultures. Through his unique experience in architecture, sport and technology, Matthew has developed a pragmatic, empowering and visionary leadership style. Fortunate enough to hold various domestic, regional and global roles and based in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Singapore, Mexico and the USA, Matthew has delighted in helping to build commercially focused and agile IT organisations. After many years away, Matthew is rediscovering the delights of Melbourne, and the coffees of Hawthorn.

    Paul Marriott is Senior Vice President of Digital Core at SAP Asia Pacific Japan. In this role he leads all regional sales teams for ERP (i.e., SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, SAP Business One, SAP Business byDesign), SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, and Digital Supply Chain & Manufacturing. An established IT and business leader with more than 20 years of experience, he most recently served as the region’s Chief Operating Officer. In this capacity, he led a successful cloud transformation program, established focus on the region’s strategic partners, incorporated social impact activities, sponsored an Early Talent program, as well as supported the development of the Asia Soaring strategy which he operationalized through the COO go-to-market process. Paul also provided executive sponsorship to many customers across the region, building a strong customer base and supporting SAP’s strategy to put customer’s first. Prior to this, Paul successfully served as the Senior Vice President of Database & Analytics solutions for the region where he was instrumental in driving the business strategy and sales execution to meet the Database & Analytics license and revenue goals, including the successful adoption of the SAP HANA platform. Before joining SAP, Paul spent more than 10 years at Oracle Corporation driving database and middleware strategy and customer adoption across Asia Pacific, EMEA, and Europe. Paul holds a bachelor’s degree in both Applied Physics & Computer Science from Staffordshire University as well as a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Essex. Outside of work, Paul has a keen interest in youth rugby and coaches the U10 squad at the Tanglin Rugby Club in Singapore.

    Ken Tsai is the Global Vice President of SAP’s Database and Data Management business unit and leads the global product marketing efforts for SAP’s flagship SAP HANA platform and the portfolio of SAP database and data management solutions such as EIM, Middleware, Big Data, ASE, IQ, SQL Anywhere, Event Stream Processing. Ken has 20 years of experiences in the technology sector, responsible for application development, consulting, pre-sales, business development, product management and marketing.

He has wide ranging experience as a Chief Technology Officer, Chief Data Scientist and Chief Systems Architect in a variety of industries.
  • Damon Rees

    NSW Department of Customer Service (formerly Finance, Services and Innovation
    NSW Govt Chief Information & Digital Officer

    Damon Rees is the first NSW Government Chief Information and Digital Officer (GCIDO). His wide brief encompasses guiding NSW to be a world-leader in the areas of digital, data and cyber security. He also leads diverse team in his role as Deputy Secretary of ICT and Digital Government in the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation. Since joining the public sector in May 2016, Mr Rees has overseen whole-of-government reforms in ICT investment and assurance, the creation of NSW’s first Government Chief Information and Security Officer and the release of the NSW Digital Government Strategy. The GCIDO will be pushing the NSW Government into the next phase of digital transformation and enabling the delivery of 70 per cent of government transactions via digital channels by 2019. Prior to this, Mr Rees was the Chief Digital Officer at Macquarie Bank, and earlier held senior leadership positions with Woolworths and Westpac Banking Group. He also serves as Non-Executive Director with GP Synergy, a federally-funded general practice education and training provider.

    Dawn is the Executive Director, Policy and Innovation at the Department of Finance, Services and Innovation. She leads the NSW Government reforms in ICT, digital government, innovation, and corporate and shared services. Dawn has been a part of the whole of government strategy team at DFSI for over 4 years. She has held strategic and leadership roles in other NSW Government agencies, and in the private sector and overseas.
