Description:
SAUG is delighted to invite all Executive Council members to our next SAUG Executive Council Meeting which will be held in Canberra on Tuesday March 11th, 2025 at the Hotel Realm. This is our peak body for senior executives to network, gain and share incomparable insights and influence SAP leadership. As well as some exclusive insights from two customers who moved to RISE with SAP, we are reviving our very popular discussion style format so that members can ask questions from SAP and other members, hear responses and action outcomes, as well as influence future roadmaps and strategy. The agenda is:
- 4:00-4:10 | Welcome - Karen Zwissler, Chief Executive Officer, SAP Australian User Group
- 4:10-4:30 | Finance Modernisation - from SAP ECC6 to S/4Hana Public Cloud Greenfield using Activate - Peter Buchan, Executive Director, Queensland Shared Services
Peter will discuss what is Queensland Shared Services and what they do, issues they were facing, what they decided to do and the Guiding Principles and why Public Cloud/Greenfield and not Private Cloud/Brownfield.
- 4:35-4:55 | A practical Rise with SAP implementation - Mark Pozdena, General Manager Business IT and Digital Delivery Powerlink Queensland
In May 2024, Powerlink Queensland worked out what RISE with SAP meant and what value it could bring to their organisation. Less than 6 months later, they began moving their environments to RISE culminating in the migration of their full production environment with a Go-Live in January 2025. Mark will discuss why they decided to move and the practical approach they took to achieve fast-tracked success.
- 5:00-5:30 | Moderated Discussion – New SAP announcements; SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Business Suite and how it impacts public sector and regulated industries - Sally Kingston, Expert Architect Advisor for Public Sector, SAP / Cathy McGurk, Head of Solution Engineering, SAP / Stephen McDougall, Industry Account Executive – Government, SAP
- 5.30-6.00 | Discussion of key questions and action items for SAP
- 6.00-7:30 | Networking Drinks + Canapes
